Gaming Mouse, Wasting Your Time Much Easier

With Wrath of the Lich King just around the corner, it’s time to up your game and finally make it out of the low double digits with that Blood Elf mage you keep telling us about.

Mouse for the gamers

Mouse for the gamers

Maybe SteelSeries can help. The high-end gaming peripherals builder recently snapped up Ideazon, and together they’ve built the official World of Warcraft MMO Gaming Mouse in close cooperation with Ideazon’s BFF Blizzard. There are 15 programmable buttons scattered across the mouse, and a new in-game configuration utility to graphically assign the buttons just where they’re needed. You can save different profiles for different purposes, and choose one of 16 million colors for those LEDs down the back.

Just don’t expect any fancy auto-levelling macros or even a recommended control scheme, Blizzard still expects you to do the hard work of lining up your favorite actions and buying your gold on eBay. The laser mouse hits on November 13th to coincide with the Lich King launch, and should retail “under $100.”

Samsung Emporio Armani: Definitely not for High End

Samsung Emporio Armani

Samsung Emporio Armani

To get a better idea how the Emporio Armani phone is different from its close sibling, Giorgio Armani, that launched a year ago or so, we will need to take a plunge into how this fashion brand positions its numerous branches. The average consumer with no interest in fashion will hardly tell the difference between various collections, to him it all will seem way too far-fetched. But much like the world of gadgets, the fashion industry too has got a plain and clear-cut segmentation, including luxury and mainstream brands. Let me put it to your tech-savvy ears this way - there are lots of low-end stuff and then there are some higher-end things out there. This way, Armani, as a fashion house, offers up a bunch of collections (or lines), each one with strictly defined positioning and target audience.

Samsung Emporio Armani, Definitely for highend class

Samsung Emporio Armani, Definitely for highend class

The reception quality put up by the Night Effect is in line with other Samsung-branded devices. The ringtone volume is quite decent, as it can be heard in various environments. The silent alert is average strength-wise, no significant improvements have been made here, but compared to the U900, the new Night Effect is a wee bit louder.

Much like any other fashionable item, the Night Effect isn’t a phone for everyone. But at the same time it represents Samsung’s new generation of phones, boasting pretty decent audio quality, 3.5 mm headphone jack, microUSB socket for charging and synchronization, likable mix of materials and a new and improved display. While it’s not the best phone we’ve seen by any means, it well deserves a glance or two. All in all, the Night Effect is one of the most interesting offerings in 2008, and rest assured there are more phones of this breed to come. It will start shipping in October for 280-300 Euro a unit - around the same watermark the U800 Soul’s sales kicked off at. It’s quite another matter, though, that the Samsung Emporio Armani’s sales package is significantly richer.

Having dealt with most hiccups and hitches of their previous solutions, Samsung have rolled out the phone that has all it takes to become a new icon in its segment.

Eventhough is very hard to compete with the best search in engine in the world, Anna have a very strong confidence that her search engine, which she build with her husband Tom Costello, will beat Google and Yahoo in a matter of time.

Anna’s focus is on scaling architecture, tackling one of the major problems in search—the exponential growth of the Internet. Anna was the architect of Google’s large search index, TeraGoogle, that launched in early 2006.

While at Google, Anna was the technical lead of one of the two Web ranking groups at Google, in charge of GoogleBase, and the manager for the core piece of Google’s ad-matching technology. She joined Google in 2004 after designing, writing and selling Recall—the largest search engine in existence at the time at 12 billion pages.

Anna has a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and was a Research Scientist at Stanford University.

Palin n Obama Wins ‘Spam Debate’

Filed under: Hot Gossip — @ 12:08 pm

If only determining the winner of a debate was this easy.

In a study released by Secure Computing on Friday, the amount of spam citing Gov. Sarah Palin topped her opponent, Sen. Joe Biden, by a ratio of 5 to 4 during the month of September. But in a top-of-the-ticket comparison, spam using the name of Sen. Barack Obama easily topped the use of his opponent, Sen. John McCain, by 6 to 1.

What does this say? That spammers are continuing to use the most provocative names and subjects as possible, to lure users into opening the source email. A “surge” of Obama spam was apparently timed for around Sept. 3, about the time of the Republican National Convention.

Obama Vs. McCain, in Spam

By comparison, news stories citing Obama or McCain favored McCain, 10 to 9. Web sites mentioning Obama outrank those that cite McCain, 3 to 2. But the spam associated with Sarah Palin is closer to the news stories or Web sites mentioning Palin, both of which outstrip Biden citations by 7 to 2.

And what do the spammers tie to the candidates’ names? In the case of Obama, “Though the spam message content itself is nonsensical, the basic themes of the Obama email content does tend to revolve around the shallow factors that are espoused in the mainstream media as central campaign issues: race, disputes with Clinton, messianic oratory, and FOX news smears,” Secure Computing wrote. “The McCain spam subjects are equally driven by shallow media propaganda, revolving around age and wealth.”

Secure Computing also warned that October could see an uptick in spam and other phishing attempts mentioning either the banks which either were taken over or went under, such as Wachovia and Washington Mutual. In addition, there has been a rise in “gibberish spam,” nonsensical messages that are either a glitch in the spammers’ software or an attempt to weed out nonfunctioning email addresses.

Cellphone Cemetary

Do You ever imagine if all people in Indonesia used two or more cellphone each? It means, there will be thousands of tons used cellphone that will be thrown away to a garbage. So what will the industry do with that?

Recycle Cellphone

Recycle Cellphone

Half of the cellphone vendors already have a plan to do used cellphone recycle. Unfortunately, this program is not booming because many people didn’t know about this plan. No wonder there’s so many speculation about the recycle thing.

I’ve heard some information from the trusted source. They say, all the component inside the used cellphone is separated. Then they will sell the component and use it again to build another cellphone in a new brand. In another word, they use the component to remake, rebrand and reused the cellphone.

A lot of people who didn’t use their old cellphone because it was broken. They didn’t realize, if one component is broke, the other component inside the cellphone is still usefull. So, that is the chance to make a rebrand cellphone.

Actually, lokal/chinese cellphone industry in Indonesia have a good chance to use this opportunity. They can build a good brand image if they can collect the used cellphone.

Most of Chinese cellphone have double on simcard feature. GSM-CDMA, or GSM-GSM. Just tell to the people to collect their used cellphone and change it with the double on simcard phone, no charge or half of the retail price. If the vendor can collect the used cellphone than they will get 3 benefit directly.

First, the vendor will be known as a ‘green’ vendor who care with global warming or etc. They build their own brand image.

Second, you will get benefit from the unit sale, if you get them on charge.

Third, you can sell the component or rebrand the used cellphone with your own, no need foreign people.
